Sample Rejected Due to
Hey There,
Was wondering if you folks could help me better understand the issue with my rejected sample. Here was my feedback:
Your recording sounds undesirably over-processed, which is impacting the quality of the deliverable. It may be due to a noise reduction plugin, an EQ, or a noise gate, for example.

I applied to Voice Bunny at the behest of my manager at a professional sound studio where I record audiobooks near my home. She told me she has been accepted to Voice Bunny by using the same recording settings as me for her sample. I will investigate if there's a technical setting that has caused over-processing that I'm not aware of, but wondered if you could offer any additional feedback as to what's wrong with the recording before I pursue fixing it, and hopefully resubmitting, through the sound studio. Many thanks for your time!

Hi Grace
Thanks for sharing the recording!
I personally don't feel any overprocessing, however, the recording has a very high level of background noise that sounds like a fan, a refrigerator or something of the sort. You can easily listen to it more clearly on the areas where you're not talking, especially at the beginning.
To get rid of this, I suggest you review where the microphone is located in relation to the computer and other items that may create noise. If they're in the same space, further isolation of the mic would be needed as well as locating it much farther from said pieces to reduce the amount of noise. I would absolutely recommend you not to fix this with a noise reduction in any way as the noise is definitely very strong and would just end up damaging the frequency response of your recording.
If you could share some pictures of the setup as well as letting us know which pieces of equipment you're using, it would be awesome! We may be able to give you some options on what you can try and see if it works.
