Feedback on my submission please
Hello,
I submitted and got rejected, my own fault really for lowering the noise floor. 1st is the original recording that I didn't send (with noticeable radiator noises and clicks at the beginning etc). I have used a plugin to edit out clicks, is this acceptable? 2nd is the version I submitted, which understandably got rejected. I also didn't normalise to -3d when I sent it in, but have now. Please can I have some more feedback on how to improve!

Hi Sophie,
Sometimes software processing can degrade audio quality. I'd suggest editing these clicks and noises in between words manually. Be careful not to leave just silence, a tad of room tone is better as it will make reads sound less robotic.
Lastly, in terms of performance, this one comes off a bit stiff and "read". It should feel more relaxed and shouldn't sound as if you're reading the script.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Sebastian that’s really helpful, definitely things to work on!
Hi Sophie!
I agree with Seb's comments. It's always better to take care of the problems you have by the source. Would you mind letting us know how you're recording? Share with us your gear and some pics of your space. We may be able to give you some extra insights.
Hi Angela,
Sorry for the super late reply. Here are some pics of my space. I have a Rode NT1-A microphone, SE Electronics reflection filter. Sound blanket over a room divider behind me and another one sloped above me and my wooden desk with a towel on it. Any advice would be great.
Thanks,
Sophie
