    Hello, Lance.

Thank you for sharing your work with us!

There is some noticeable echo in the recording. Perhaps the room is not acoustically treated, or your recording booth is not working properly. Try to fill your place with carpets, foam, pillows, or anything you find that can reduce the bouncing of the sound waves.

Also, I can hear plosives throughout the file; the Ps and Ts sound quite hard. Try using a pop filter, or, in case you're using one already, it might be a good idea to invest in another one /build one yourself. Remember to place it a couple of inches away from the mic.

Let us know what you think.

    Best,

    Oscar

    Hi Lance

I agree with the comments from Oscar. I also feel some hiss noise in the background of the recording. It's quite consistent so it could be coming from a piece of equipment. It could be a good idea to review that your computer ground is connected and being balanced properly.

Also, the overall volume of the recording is too low. Remember to normalize the file to -3dB always.

Would you mind letting us know how you're recording? If you can share the equipment you're using and some pics of your space it would be helpful.

    Cheers,

This is where I am recording right now (Sorry that it's sideways). It's not great but it's everything I have for right now. I plan to move out and go to a larger space soon. I would like to cover my room with things to absorb the sound.

This is my room and I was thinking of covering with blankets and comforters. I also do have some soundproof foam. Will blankets and comforters help with my noise/reflection problem.

My room is terrible to record in right now because of the echo, I'm hoping the blankets can help.

    Hi Lance

Thanks for sharing. I don't recommend recording in bigger spaces. Have you considered getting a Kaotica eyeball? It could be a good investment considering your conditions now!

Also, can you please let us know which equipment you're using? I was able to distinguish a Focusrite 2i2 but I don't know what microphone that is. The noise could be coming from there.

I'll look into getting a Kaotica and I use an AT2035 microphone

Thank you for letting me know. This mic is really good so I don't believe it's coming from it. It could be background noise instead so let's treat the space first. If the hiss is still there, we'll try other fixes directly on your gear.

Let us know if you get the Kaotica!
