Top Pros: Katie Gaskin

Hello everyone!

We’re very glad to be able to share with you the first interview we’re going to have as part of our Top Pros’ series.

This time, Katie Gaskin, one of the most successful Pros in the platform, has accepted our invitation to chat about her life as a VO artist, and how VoiceBunny has enriched her professional career.

Here’s a short abstract of what you’ll hear in the entire interview:

What do you think VB can do to provide more opportunities for people pursuing a career in VA?

“VB makes it really nice, and streamlined (...) and any issues that do come up, you guys, as the support team handle it, which takes a lot of stress and pressure off of us as Pros.

Another thing that’s super nice is that despite it being such an anonymous process, which you would think would be very hands-off on the support side, you guys are very hands-on with us as Voice Actors; you’re very attentive to our needs, our questions; the community boards are great, you’re always answering questions, following up, really trying to help the individual, which is impressive (…)

I think where you excel is your customer /VA support. It’s really, to me, unparalleled (…) You provide lots of information, and the opportunity to progress for anyone that’s maybe trying to break into the industry or has plenty of experience but is starting, sort of speak at the bottom here at VB, there’s always room to progress and grow. You don’t feel like you’re just lost in a see (…)”

If you could go back in time, what is one thing you would tell yourself that could also help new Pros?

“Don’t give up. And I know that sounds cliché and cheesy but, seriously, I almost threw in the towel at VB because of my own fault, of not knowing about quality (...) I was constantly receiving well-earned rejections, I was getting really mad and I probably would have fallen into the crowd of “VB is just dumb because they reject everyone”. That’s not the case. Looking back I know that was my fault (...)So, be patient. Hang in there (...) If you want this bad enough you can have it.”
