what's the perfect gain for the blue yeti mic?
my application was rejected due to 'audio level is too low. Please re-record at an appropriate gain level on your pre-amp'.
I am using the blue yeti' mic (on my Macbook air and pro)and it has a gain level but there is no numer or an exact measure of the gain level on the mic, it is just the dial to increase or decrease. I set up the gain in the middle of the dial for the sample (which was feedbacked as ' too low').
can anyone use the same mic as mine and let me know which level is the perfect one?
P.S- I've read other articles here metioning that the usb mics are not ideal for a voice over work. I have Floureon BM-800 condenser mic and Phantom power 48v (both never been tried) at home. Are these better options? Do I need a paid version of interface progrmam for editing process?
I'm really new to this field, will appreciate someone's advice!
Thank you!

Hello, Olivia.
Thank you for your question.
1. It would be much better to have an audio interface (Focusrite has great options) as USB mics are not ideal for voiceover work.
You could definitely try to use the condenser mic you have to see if it's better and share a sample with us here using Dropbox, Drive, Soundcloud, etc.
2. You do not need a paid version of a DAW. Audacity is an awesome option, perfect for recording and editing, and it's free.
We look forward to getting your recording.
Best,
Oscar
