Cancellation of Project
I have an issue with a project that was cancelled without giving me the appropriate opportunity to correct "issues" flagged by Voice Bunny.
I was actually very disappointed to discover the project had been cancelled and even more so to hear that VB had cancelled without offering me a further opportunity to address your perceived issue. I received no word from VB that the project was cancelled - I had to log into the system and click around to find out.
I’ve narrated for over 60 countries and I am a full time voiceover. I never have quality issues with anyone other than VB. Ever! I record in the exact same booth, with the exact same microphone standing in the exact same place for every recording I make.
The format VB request for recordings in not one I send to my private clients but I respect what you need. I have no idea why sometimes my recordings are returned and sometimes accepted (given the information I have mentioned in the paragraph above) but I alway re-submit and my work is accepted. So why on this occasion was the project cancelled, rather than my being asked to re-submit?
I’d appreciate your response to this. Obviously for me this is lost income which as a self employed freelancer is problematic.
Warmest regards
Jennie

Title: Clinical Trials
Hi Jennie,
Unfortunately, listening to these files they have been heavily processed which is affecting their quality. Namely, it's reducing clarity in the high frequencies and makes them sound "smeared" and creates artifacts.
The files also sound quite boxy, as if recorded in a very small space but with a recognizable unwanted resonance. Perhaps this time you were recording farther from the mic than usual. If not, then the booth you are recording in might need some tweaking/additional acoustic treatment.
As the files don't meet our quality standards it couldn't be approved.
Regarding your feedback regarding notifications, in the future, we'll make sure to notify you if a project is cancelled.

I appreciate your feeback and I will take on board your comments.
I always record in the same space with the same equipment so I am not sure why you sometimes accept my recordings first time and why other times I have to submit them again.
