Rejected application for Room echo
Hello!
My application was rejected due to room echo. I showed the file to my studio partner, who is a music producer, and he reminded me that by default my recordings have a plugin. Most of the clients I've had don't like receiving a raw recording. This plugin gives the recording more body and less of a raw feeling. Listening to both I can see why the file I used for the application sounds like it has a room echo.
I'm adding the recording that I sent for my application, that includes the default plugin:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e-1ZiyH8UF_QfUxlkLJrDjGy4r2uu9Oy/view?usp=sharing
I'm also including the file WITHOUT the plugin:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yjQbKcT4K68vCzd352lHst32UbV5sIF6/view?usp=sharing
Would the second file (without the plugin) be accepted?
Thank you for your feedback and help!
Best regards,
Sofia

Hello, Sofia.
Thank you for sharing your work with us.
I can definitely notice the difference between both files. In my opinion, there are just a few reflections but they're not that noticeable, so if you add a bit more of acoustic treatment, you shouldn't have a problem with it.
You'll be much better off if you use no extra processing whatsoever, as we need to provide a file for our clients that they can manipulate according to their needs.
Don't forget to normalize the file to -3dB as I sensed it was a bit low in terms of volume.
Hope that helps.
Best,
Oscar
Hello Oscar,
Thank you for your feedback.
What do you recommend that I do now? Should I rerecord the script and resubmit it?
I appreciate your help!
Best,
Sofia
You can definitely re-record it and share it again here, so you have the set up ready for when the next test project arrives.
