Need details on exactly what audio standards weren't met on rejected audition
Dear QC Team,
Help! I had an audition rejected due to audio standards not being met. There were no details provided on what exactly the problem is. I'm using a Whisper Room - which I've used for over 15 years - and have had an audio engineer double check the treatment and technical side of things. My studio is considered broadcast quality and commercials I've recorded there have been cleared by production studios and TV stations in Denver, CO so quality issues with my studio sound is not something I've ever encountered before.
So I need specifics please!

Hi Tia,
There's a bit of a resonance in your recording space which overemphasizes low-mid frequencies. There's also a bit of hiss/noise in between words, this could be caused by any of the elements in your recording chain (most probably the recording device).
I also hear some editing issues. Some edit points have small clicks, for example at 0:11 after "you" or at 0:15 after "them". To solve this issue we suggest you apply fades at edit points, that way there won't be any clicks.
Overall, I'd suggest reducing a bit of gain on the mic, this normally helps with hiss issues and can even lower the amount of room resonance picked up by the mic.
Your quality is very close to what we're after but this particular read did have several small issues that warranted a revision.
Thanks for these details, Sebastian. This is very helpful and exactly what I needed for specifics.
I'll make the necessary adjustments.
Best,
Tia
