help with rejected file

    Hi Sara!

Unfortunately, that's the case. Your sample has practically no bass (low register) information. The mids are exaggerated and the mid-highs at around 6-8kHz are also exacerbated: you can hear this in your sibilants (S and SH sounds).

I can only guess but it sounds as if a noise reduction plugin is to blame for these issues with your recording.

Please, try to upload a sample with absolutely no processing of any kind so that we can help out and help suggest a better processing stack for your audio. Also, try lowering the gain a bit at the recording stage (your preamp and/or interface) as there's a bit of white noise in the spoken portions, very different from the noise floor audible in the silent regions resulting of edits. After recording remember to use normalization as the preferred method to bring the levels in your audio to the Bunny Standard of -3dBFS Peak.

    Cheers!

Thank you so much for your help. You may very well be right. Here is the file with no processing. What would you suggest doing to improve it?
