Rejected, but can't find reason...

    Hi, Kevin!

Thank you very much for submitting those files and for trusting us in this safe space, we'll do our best to figure out what's going on.

As for the reasons behind the rejection, we'd have to analyze the projects themselves, could you please supply some links so that we can take a look? We can also see if something's preventing you from reading the feedback after the project has expired.

Regarding the files you submitted here, it would also be really helpful if you include information about your setup: mic, preamp/interface, DAW, photos of your space and/or screen grabs of whatever FX racks you apply in the box, 'cause the funny thing is that your voice sounds fine but a bit processed, as if Noise Reduction had been applied to the waveform, with a bit of muddiness that I'm sure we can pinpoint and solve with some elbow grease.

So, we're looking forward to read/hear some more from you!

    Hi Hector,

Thanks for reviewing and for the initial information. Here is the link to the accepted/rejected projects:

    QC Rejected Project

    QC Accepted Project

If you could quote the exact feedback from the QC agent that reviewed, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'll post a snap of the DAW, booth photos, and list my equipment after reviewing the feedback. I'm always open to improvement and your feedback would be great. Though, one of main concerns is how the QC result was inconsistent between projects. They were done within hours of each other with all of the same equipment and in the same vocal booth.

Thanks again - I really appreciate your willingness to help!

    Hi Kevin,

Not a VB QC guy, just another v/o person who likes to participate in the community. On the rejected segment I seem to hear some slightly popped "p"s. I have no idea whether that's the QC team's reason for the rejection, but suspect it could be.

Do you use a pop-filter? Or if not, do you position the mic either off to one side or slightly above with axis pointed slightly down?

I used to use a pop filter, but was still getting some QC rejections, then went to the mic above, axis tilted down approach (no pop-filter) and have been having good response with that.

    Great sounding voice, btw.

    Regards,

    Joe Brown

@Hector, were you able to find the feedback from QC on the rejected project by chance?

@Joe, Hey there and thanks so much for your feedback. I have a fair-sized windscreen over the mic, but your suggestion with the higher arm and the axis pointed down when recording seemed to have helped a ton with avoiding the plosives; like clockwork!! Thanks again and have a wonderful day!

    Hi, Kevin!

This is Andrés of the Bunny Pro Management team. Here's the direct feedback from the QC Agent:

The client is looking for “Energetic with emphasis on the no need to bank. Excited when saying our call-to-action.”. Your read sounds too relaxed.

Hector will follow up with you in case there are any additional questions. All the best!

    Hi Andres,

Thanks for providing this information. The feedback is certainly fair and understood after reviewing the project details and re-listening to the recording. I’ll keep this as a mental note to triple check the client description as I listen to my recordings before submitting going forward. No further questions at this time.

    Thanks again!

On another note, the quoted section from the QC team was in the original/full project details and not included in the auditioning script. I’ll keep note to review this info on partial scripts going forward as well.
