    Hi Casey,

    Thanks for your submission.

First of all, please remember to normalize your deliverables to the -3dBFS peak level our clients prefer.

Then, are you using processing on your audio, and if so, what are you using?

    Cheers

I have recorded a new sample here:

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1nkmgAr0dFehClF0Z2-dvG6Q1Y33T80Pq

This one is normalized and I do not use any other processing. I have switched from recording on my laptop to recording on my desktop, so, hopefully, any issues making it seem like there was extra processing have been resolved.

    Hi, Casey!

Thank you so much for trusting us and this space. The normalized sample is much better, yet it reflects the need to apply a discrete noise gate so that the little white noise audible is completely removed from your waveform. I performed a test using Audition's stock dynamics processing to a very successful degree. Here's a screenshot of the settings I used.

I would also recommend using diaphragmatic speech techniques to reduce these peaks:

These spikes are vowel sounds that you're speaking out louder while emphasizing parts of the script. They do not allow for normalization to work properly and while you could use manual leveling or automation to reduce them and even out the audio, it's always best to be mindful while recording so that through breath control we can reduce these unnecessary spikes in our speech at origin, as this saves time and works wonders in obtaining a balanced and controlled reading.

Hopefully, these tips will help you in ironing out those little details so that you may produce better recordings. Please feel free to come back to this thread and ask any questions if you need further orientation in these subjects, we're happy to help!

    Kindest Regards,

I have implemented the noise gate and breathing techniques as well as tweaking some of my recording settings to hopefully get rid of the white noise.

Thank you all for your help thus far.

    Hey, Casey!

Congratulations, this is a great improvement! There were only three peaks related to loud vowels in your waveform. Here you can download the file which I processed: simply selecting the peaks very carefully and lowering their amplitude manually, then normalizing the whole waveform.

This is a super valuable ability to learn because it's literally will give you the power to salvage a really good take with just a few clicks, instead of re-recording a whole phrase and having to do punch-ins and other time-intensive stuff.

As far as I'm concerned, the coaching has worked and I'll just need a new sample where you can show me that you can control them loud vowels (or edit their volume peaks properly) and I'll ask our Bunny Manager in charge to reactivate your account.

Thank you for being such a good sport and for all the effort put into improving your sound!

    Cheers!

Thank you again for all of your help. The process for producing these files has been very different from my process for producing audiobooks, so all the guidance is much appreciated. Here is a new sample file that should have all the issues solved:

    Hell yeah, Casey!

This is what every audio should sound like, so save those settings and make notes of what we've worked through because you hit the jackpot! Don't forget to normalize your audios before uploading, though (-3 dBFS Peak Level).

I will be asking our Bunny Managers Team to look into your reactivation, so keep up that good work! I'm very proud of your progress and I'm looking forward to QA your stuff once you start rocking those projects.

Congratulations on a job well done!
