    Hi, Cindy!

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry that we haven't been able to accept your application, but we can certainly offer you advice on how to improve your quality.

Could you give us a detailed account of your equipment? (Mic brand/model, computer, etc.) Also, a picture of the recording space and a description of any plug-ins/FX you've used will be appreciated and very useful.

    Cheers!

Hi Héctor ! Thanks for your answer I really appreciated!

    So I bought that mic : https://www.amazon.com/Condenser-Microphone-Streaming-Professional-Broadcasting/dp/B07XG251WD

I use my microsoft surface and the open sourced sofware Audacity.

I will have to figure how to show you my space but it was in my appartment (loft) during the day so pretty quiet.

As for plugins / FX ...I havent use any other than the software (effect->noise reduction) ...not sure if its those term cause my software is in french lol ... to get rid of the background metal noise that was pointed at my first try .

Hello, Cindy! It's nice to have you here in the Community! :-)

The audio quality indeed is not up to our quality standard, and this microphone may be the reason for the low-quality audio :-((( ... I am sorry, but it appears that you've chosen a mic not suitable for professional work.

In order to produce a good-enough-quality audio for professional voiceover, you will need the following:

    • A quality audio interface that connects to your Microsoft Surface (this will cost from somewhere around 100 USD... but prior to spending $$$, please make sure the unit is compatible with your PC)
    • A professional quality microphone (such as Røde NT1a if your room acoustics is correctly set up)
    • Pro-quality microphone cable to connect your pro mic to the interface (this is VERY important)
    • A good-enough pop screen and a mic stand
    • A professional quality headphones (Sony MDR-7506 is considered the standard)
    • Well-insulated room with no room reverberation and boxy-sounding resonance

If you have a good microphone preamp that gives clean audio signal to your interface, that'll be fantastic! :-)

Thank you! We look forward to collaborating with you and your much-improved audio soon! :-)

    Best regards,

    Oki
