Rejected for "not sounding like a teenager"
I had previously applied before, but got rejected because there was too much hiss, and my audio was too quiet. Sure, I get that, oh well. Fast forward about a month later, and I get a notification that my request to reapply was accepted. So I redo my audition, this time making sure that background hiss was below -60db, and my audio was between -9 and -3db, but I got rejected this time because I didn't sound like a male teenager, which was the voice that I picked for my audition. I don't really know what to say because I'm literally 16 years old, and I believe that rejecting me for something that is subjective is a bit unfair. Now, if there was something else alongside that which caused me to be rejected, say it seemed harsh at -3db (which it did to me at least), then I would be fine. But since this is the only reason that they gave me, it just makes me a bit frustrated.

Hi Matthew,
Thank you for bringing this up. After reviewing your sample, and taking into account your age, I have to say, your voice doesn't sound like a teenager, sounds more like an adult middle age or young adult, that explains that rejection from our QC team.
This here is totally optional, but, would you consider applying for those ages rather than a teenager one? You would have a better chance there than here, as you could see.
Let me know what you think
Sure, thanks for clearing that up. I guess I just couldn't envision a teenage voice was all.
Glad I could help, Matthew.
All the best!
