Asking for quality control

Hello Nicolas! Thank you for participating in this community! :-)

I am sorry, but ... no :-( This won't do... Please carefully reconstruct your room acoustics, to eliminate room resonance and reverberation. Please strategically place acoustic foams to walls and ceiling. Please cover the floor with thick carpet if you can.

    Good luck! :-)

    Best regards,
    Oki

    Hello Nicolas,

Thank you for re-uploading your audio!

Although the quality has slightly improved, this is not the quality we can go with :-(((

Could you please share us several photos of how your room is set up? Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Oki

I thank you so much for your support Oki !

I improved a little bit more, as I could do, so this is the new recording (again) : https://we.tl/t-EYDkGOFmfJ

And as you asked, these are some pictures of my (very homemade) set up) : https://we.tl/t-AIi6NsO1UV

Can't wait to have news from you :)

    Best regards,
    Nicolas

    Thank you for the upload!!!

I see it now. The cloth solution won't work, because they are way too thin :-( You'll need a MUCH thicker / denser set of fabrics (such as EXTRA THICK blankets, thick carpets, futon, etc.)

Also... Please do not forget to treat the ceiling as well.

Plus... recording anything under the cabinet/cupboard is a bad idea :-((

May I ask you to do a bit more research, to look around the Internet, to see what people of the world came up with (for improving room acoustics)?

    Hello Oki !

I've made some more research. I've made two another records. That's the ultimate set up I could come up with, for now.
After the quarantine I will build up something with materials and tools I'll find. but right now I'm kind of stuck I guess.
So these are my two records. I used two different mics, maybe could you tell me what's the best ?
Anyway I hope these will do. Otherwise I'll wait to be able to go to a workshop.

Once again, thanks a lot for your time Oki,

    Have a nice day,

    Yours

mmm... I listened to the 1st link but ...

I am sorry but the quality has gotten worse :-(((

Let's not spend any more time right now with this same setup :-( Instead, please save up your time and money to buy up a set of genuine acoustic foams (as well as to sit down and thoroughly understand what's going on in your room).

Otherwise you'll be shooting in the dark forever :-((( ... and I bet that's not what you want.

    Thank you! :-)

    Cheers,
    Oki

    Hi Nicolas,

Seems like we took longer than allowed to see this file. Can you share it again with us, please?

    Hello Johnatan,

I have to confess I had a computer issue, but I guess I found the files anyway. Here's the link : https://we.tl/t-9xUGTqn8P8
Could you tell me what's better ?

If it's bad again, I would be able to try another thing.

    Just let me know
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Nicolas,

The second file sounds better, it has less room than the first one. However, there is hiss noise still present on your recording and there are some volume issues too.

Remember that it should be normalized to -3dB peak.

This link will make a clear difference between having the hiss noise (your file) and a processed one

    Audio Sample with no Hiss

Let me know what you think.

    Hi Johnatan,

Could you tell me what s the name of the second file you're talking about ? I'm sorry I don't remember the order of my sending. In fact I used two different mics. So I guess the enhance come from the difference between them and from my new set up.

Yeah it's something I'll be used to do in the future.

Yeah this quality seems really good ! But I don't understand how you did it. I'd like to know your process.
I'll check to by reading stuff on the internet again.

Thanks, a lot, for your help !

(I'm sorry for the delayed response, I did not received a mail this time). I'll be watching.

    Hi Nicolas,

Unfortunately, I don't have that file with me anymore. However, we could try and do some experiments here.

I applied a small noise gate to your file and that seemed to work. May I suggest you search on how to use it for future recordings and send us new audio for evaluation?

    Hi Johnatan,

    I'm working on that !

Besides I will move out very soon so I'll get to install a new set up. It will be my place so I could do a good thing and make another experiments + the noise gate you told me about.

Cause I m looking for a job, I just wanted to know how many projects needing french male voice arrive per month, in general, to get an idea of how I could scheddule my time.

    Thanks a lot !

Anyway I come back very soon !

    Hi Nicolas,

Thank you for the heads up, congratulations and best of lucking with the moving day!

There is no set number we can give as an answer, although we know that we are getting more projects and our goal is to have even more.

Remember that projects might arrive at any time of the day and that you are able to raise a flag whenever you want, that way you could inform our team that you will take some more time than expected to complete a project, or that you will not be able to complete it and they'll take care of it for you.

    We'll be waiting for you!
