question about available projects

Hi! quick question:

I signed on about a week ago and haven't had any projects become available as of yet. I've managed to get about ten samples in, but keep running into technical issues with the website not allowing me to add more (I posted about this in the 'issues' category).

My rates are fairly low to get me started, so hopefully that's not it...

Is this experience normal for someone new to the site, or is it just that I have to wait until I can get more samples in there? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
