My Project
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope this message finds you well :) I was wondering if I could ask for some of your expert advice. I read another conversation thread in this community forum and the service you gave was wonderful!
I have submitted a few projects to Voice Bunny to be a part of the community and have received very helpful feedback from Voice Bunny on how to improve them. This has led me to purchase the following:
Preamplifier: Scarlett Studio 2i2 USB interface.
Microphone: CM25 MkIII condenser microphone.
Headphones: HP60 MkIII professional closed-back headphones.
Extra Equipment: Pop filter, Tiger microphone boom stand.
My last proposal was rejected due to issues like mouth clicks and white noise. Since this proposal, the Aston Halo Shadow I had purchased arrived together with the SwiftShield Shock Mount and Pop Filer and I'm now using these too! The software I was using was Audacity but today I've started using Logic Pro X!
Here is a recording I made today:

It would be wonderful to have your feedback. Also, I include some photos of my setup (two of them couldn't be attached here and so here are the links:

As you can see from the photphoto above, I'm using my Aston Halo Shadow reflection filter and have a duvet hanging behind me. There is als a rug on the floor beneath the mic.
I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you so much 😃
Have a wonderful day.

Hello Filipe, how are you??
Hope this post finds you well and safe :).
Thank you for reaching out and being part of this community and for sending out your samples and pictures of your setup, those look amazing.
I was listening to your audio and I have a couple of remarks:
1. I'm noticing a bit of room echo, thus I'm noticing the reflections of your room. Maybe it would help if you hang some clothes, maybe blankets or cushions around your recording space in order to avoid those reflections being captured by the mic. Also, you can put a carpet below the recording space and see if that helps improve this issue a little bit. That pop filter you have is indeed doing its work managing the plosives, so maybe, if you have the chance, getting also a reflection filter might help you sort out this problem. Anyway, personally I would try to handle it first with the first advices I gave you and if that does not help you can think about getting the reflection filter.
2. I'm indeed noticing some breath and mouth noises. For this you can do the following:
A. For the breath noises, you can edit them using volume automation or fades on your main DAW (you'll find tips on how to use fades here: https://bit.ly/37HlIke).
Other than that, if you want to avoid doing edition, the simplest way is to be aware of your breaths at the moment of recording so you can control them consciously.
B. For the mouth clicking noises, you can also edit them and remove them using volume automation or fades as I mentioned on my previous point. However, things that work and that help you to prevent doing edition are trying to drink hot tea before recording or eating a green apple in order to avoid salivation.
Please let me know how this goes, I'm looking forward to listen to your new samples :)!
Kind regards and hope you have a great week.
Gabriel
Hi Gabriel,
Thank you so much for looking into my question. I appreciate it! I actually mentioned that used a reflection filter, the Aston Halo Shadow and also that I used carpet :)
I will see if I can hang some clothes/absorbent material around the room - that's a good idea!
Also, I love the idea about drinking a hot tea - I plan on having some herbal tea! I've also looked into the fades and sound automation :)
Thanks again and I look forward to hopefully share my next recording. If you have any more tips, do feel free to share.
Appreciate ya! Have a wonderful day Gabriel!
