No A,B,C takes allowed
Something I keep forgetting... (and QC keeps reminding me) is that Voicebunny does not accept A,B,C takes.
Occasionally, I'll receive a project that is well thought out... super-creative... and just plain fun. With these kinds of projects, there are always one or two whammy lines that can be interpreted a few different ways.
Outside of the Bunny platform, ABC takes are a common practice... That is two or three additional variations on a particular line within the copy.
Voicebunny QC does not allow for this. Every time I give an ABC take, QC rejects the file and asks for the duplicate takes to be removed. (Totally my fault - I keep forgetting. It's just that SOOOOO many producers work this way; It's become habit ) At that point, I'm forced edit the extra takes and go with my best guess as to which line the client would prefer.
On shorter projects, I'll go ahead and read the entire script a second/third time, which QC will allow... but it doesn't make sense to do this on lengthy projects.
I know that the Bunny is a different animal. Some clients prefer continuity, or might not have the tools or resources to contend with multiple takes on a line within the project... But I die little inside every time I see a line I could read at least three different ways, yet I am reduced to only one take.
It would be nice if there were a way for the client to check an "I accept ABC takes" box when they submit a project.
Thanks for all you do!

I can understand the frustration, but, I have learned that one way to get around it would be to send the multiple takes, each in their own file, to VB and request that they are sent to the client. Its happened to me a few times when I was unsure of what take fit the best with what a client wanted. I am not sure if the client ever accepted the alternative takes or not, but, the project has always been accepted by the client in those cases, so there is that. Also, the client does have the opportunity to put a request for that in the additional instructions section of the project.
