Rejected/Revised application

    Hi Brandon,

Thank you for reaching out and explaining the process.

    Original:

Just as our team mentioned, room echo, hiss, and some plosives.

    Second:

Acoustics are better but hiss noise increased.

It seems like now we'll have to deal with the hiss noise, this article might help you with that

Let us know what you think

    Johnatan-

Thanks for replying with that link. I've made a 3rd recording now. How do you feel about it?

Again I did not use any de-breathing effects etc.

    Hi Brandon,

Amazing work here! You took care of that hiss like a Pro.

The issue that remains is mouth clicks, you can still hear saliva noises at the end of each phrase.

Once we're able to tackle that one completely, just as you did with hiss, we should be good to go

Thanks Johnatan. I cleaned up the last take a little bit. Am I on the right track here as far as bunny QC?

I really appreciate your quick and specific feedback so far. Thanks

    Hi Brandon,

This one is much better sounding! I asked for feedback with other agents in QC and they said is it very good, the only thing is mouth clicks, they are still noticeable and a bit distracting.

Other than that, you have achieved great quality.

I invite you to compare your first rejected sample to this one, what do you think about what you were able to produce?

Thanks Johnatan. I moved the mic a little bit to reduce mouth noise and I think I am able to meet the QC standards now. What is my next step?

    Good, Brandon.

This article will explain to you in detail what you'll need to do now:

How many chances do I get at auditioning to become a Pro?

Let me know if you find it clear enough.

    Hi Johnatan-

I have followed those steps & curious as to if there is any way to get a reaudition task? My first task came very quickly but so far I have not heard anything since my revisions. Thanks

    Hi Brandon,

I see that you already asked for reconsideration.

It usually takes between 7 and 30 days for the new application to arrive, how long has it been since you requested it?

    Johnatan,

After several weeks I finally received a reconsideration project and it was also rejected within minutes after being sent. This time I was told there was room echo (unlikely) and quashed high-end, indicating noise reduction. I did not do anything differently with this file than the one you said sounded good. I recorded in the same space with the same equipment and software. I'm frustrated because I would very much like to meet the requirements of the audition project. I would appreciate any further advise you can offer that would lead to an accepted file.

    Hi Brandon,

That's awful! We understand how you must be feeling about this.

We just compared both files, the one I said was ok and this last one. It is a bit odd since you recorded in the same place with the same equipment, but this last one does have room echo and a bit of hiss noise.

Out of curiosity, what headphones are you using to monitor your audio, we're currently using the Sony MDR-7506, which are the same ones our QC use when evaluating audio.

This is a bit tricky, as we are using the same headphones.

How do you feel about giving it another go and coming back with new audio?
