Not professional equipment?
This assessment came as quite a surprise to me, since it's the same mic and DAW I'm already using for VO work and audiobooks through other platforms, with not only no complaints, but often compliments on the sound quality.
Can anyone hear anything lacking? - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZHzByOE-LTlIKKHxoq2WcgY4eqfKywnz/

Hi Moxie,
Welcome to our community, we're very excited about this conversation!
Although you have a great voice and a wonderful reading, there is some technical stuff that we might need to work on before getting approved by our team:
Here some articles that might help you with those issues:
This one helps with Reverb
This one helps with Hiss
Plosives: that's an easy one, just make sure you're using a pop filter. If you already have one, just position your mic at a slight angle, this will help prevent the air of your consonants from hitting the mic's capsule.
Editing: It seems like you're using some noise gate, or noise reduction plugin, which is affecting the quality of your audio, maybe the threshold is a bit strong for your particular audio.
Sibilance: you could use some de-esser and that should help you with that one.
Let us know how you feel about it. Also, we'd love to receive new audio after you read and apply some of these suggestions.
Let's get that audio approved!
