Submission rejected because of length of pauses?
Hi,
I have recently submitted for a speedy where the customer explicitly wrote the length of silences between sentences. The problem is, the client also requested the audio to be under a certain length. We're talking 24 seconds of silence for a recording which should be shorter than 28 seconds. Feeling like the total length was the most important requirement, I submitted with shorter pauses but the recording was rejected by Bunny QC because the pauses were not as specified. Resubmitted with the lengths requested but now it got rejected because the total length is more than 28 seconds.
How are we supposed to fulfil this kind of assignments? Are we supposed to submit recording after recording because of the length of silences?
Also, there is no way to communicate directly with Bunny QC to report this kind of problems which is less than ideal.
Sincerely,
Aurore

Hi Aurore,
Thank you very much for reaching out.
Can you please share the link to that project with us, please?
You have two ways of communicating with our QC agents:
Some times, and for this particular case, it would be best to raise a flag.
That being said, having the link to the project would help us understand better the situation.
Looking forward to your reply
Hi Johnatan,
This is the project in question: https://bunnystudio.com/voice/projects/#/timeline/99570F3C1682D700282B
I notice now that the approved voiceover doesn't have the required length of pauses either, which makes things even worse!
Why was my submission rejected and the other one accepted when the pauses were wrong as well?
Also this is the second project I have flagged and never got any feedback so I wouldn't consider it an effective way to be in touch with QC. Here is usually more reactive, so thank you for that at least!
Hi Aurore,
I hope you're having a great day.
I apologize for the late reply and thank you for sending me the link and your thoughts.
After reviewing the project, I see that this is a very particular case. This is what I think could help us with future events:
As you see on the approved deliverable, she did the pauses at the beginning, and on the long pause at the end, she left it as long as possible making sure not to go over the 28 seconds mark. So if something like this happens again, try to stick to the remarks as best as you can, keeping in mind the most important one, duration.
That being said, we removed this project from your stats, it won't affect your work negatively.
Let me know if this solves your question and make you feel better about what just happened
Hi again,
I appreciate you removing it from my stats, that is something at least.
There is nothing you can do about it now so you can consider this matter closed, but I don't think it's very professional to have voice talents guess which requirements have priority over others, especially considering the absence of feedback when we flag a project. Also, according to you, duration is what matters the most but my first submission actually took into account the full duration and was rejected so, again, getting mixed signals from QC. I'm sorry to say that I once again see that the processes and expectations are not aligned between QC professionals which makes it hard for us to know how to reach the best sound possible!
Thank you for your help and feedback however, I truly appreciate it!
Thank you for your feedback, Aurore.
I will bring it to our QC team so they can be more consistent and aligned when it comes to revisions.
We appreciate your kindness in handling this matter.
Feel free to reach out at any time, this helps us improve our work and give you a better experience when working with us.
You are very welcome, have a wonderful and fruitful rest of your day.
