Hi, thank you for reaching out and using this space.

Upon reviewing your file, the team concluded that the reason it might be hard for you to hear it is because it is underneath your voice, usually you'd be able to hear it on the gaps between phrases, but the processing and editing applied here has completely removed all noise on those parts, that's why it might be hard for you to hear it.

Nonetheless, it is still present and it is affecting your audio quality.

We think this article might help you with that: Hiss Noise

Thank you for sending the article, it was very helpful. I decided to do a full rehab on my studio and in the process I found the cable plugged into my mic was extremely bent which is likely the culprit and why the hiss issue seemed to come out of nowhere. I have purchased a new cable and am considering upgrading my mic as well. Since I am making a couple of different adjustments, would I be able to repost my new recording here once everything I've ordered has arrived to see if it is up to par or will I need to make a new post? Thank you again for all of your help!

    Hi Johnatan,

So I reworked my entire studio, purchased a mic 4x the cost of the one I was using previously, upgraded my interface, purchased all new cables, and got a new mic stand. No preamp, I was told the interface I have doesn't need one/has one built-in. I have attached a recording below for your review but I am personally still hearing some hiss and I'm pretty disappointed. The recording sample isn't perfect I made some errors/stumbled over words but I figured it is sufficient for our purposes of hearing the hiss below the vocals using the same script. I did need to amplify my audio because the new mic records between -18 & -12 at a natural speaking volume unless I turn the gain all the way up. I'm mainly curious if you hear any improvement in the hiss & mouth noise within the audio compared to my original setup but I'm not convinced it is up to standard yet.

    Hi Khelsi,

We evaluated your file with our QC team and we still found some boxiness on your recording.

Is there a chance you can share pictures of your recording space with us to provide you with better feedback?

Sometimes boxiness is due to flat surfaces near your recording space creating this effect by capturing early reflections.
