Rejected twice for "too much compression" but no compression was used
I had a booking this morning that was sent back for revisions because there was "too much compression." I hadn't used any compression or plug ins. After the second rejection, I turned the volume down really low and it was accepted.
What do I do so that this doesn't happen again? Why did it get flagged in the first place?

Hi Nadia,
Thank you for reaching out, could it be possible that the gain you're using for your recordings can be a little too high for the job?
We've seen this happen a couple of times and the best way to go about it is lowering the input gain and things should be fine.
Does that sound like something you could try?
It’s possible, but the loudest parts of the recording weren’t crossing the -3db threshold so it seems odd. Thanks for the reply. I’ll try lowering it in the future!
You are very welcome, Nadia.
Thank you for considering our suggestion, we think this might be helpful for future instances.
