VERY POOR and inconsistent quality feedback
This is quite honestly ridiculous how you can have a recording that has room echo in one take... you revise.. and now there is boxiness??? ESPECIALLY when the previous 3 submissions from earlier in that day... in the SAME STUDIO... with the SAME SETTINGS were accepted without issue??
Guys/Gals... you REALLY need to get real... if you don't like the audition... just SAY SO! I can handle performance or voice preference rejection... But when you question the professionalism of our technical abilities it is flat out insulting.
No need for a response... I know you will want to listen (AGAIN) to the submissions to see where the "issue" is and make recommendations. I am sure in this day and age of technology you have access to all the submissions.. so listen to ANY of mine. rejected AND accepted and you will find they ALL sound the same.
Just venting here... it all BULLSHIT

Hi Timothy,
Thank you for reaching out and using this space to share your thoughts and feelings, we understand how frustrating those rejections can be, and we're here to learn from those and move forward in the best possible way.
We did as you ask, went back to your most recent projects, both approved and rejected, and we found that it might be some acoustics issues on your recordings.
These are the projects we reviewed:
https://bunnystudio.com/voice/projects/17D74593C4AAEFD3E8A7
https://bunnystudio.com/voice/projects/222E325AF30C171B8D71

https://bunnystudio.com/voice/projects/72525EF8E5EFBDFFE7EB
https://bunnystudio.com/voice/projects/6137B030EF1C15EF8EB8
As mentioned, some were approved and other rejected, however, it seems like you could benefit from working a bit more on your acoustic environment, that way you'll definitely avoid these rejections in the future.
BTW... this is a safe space and you are welcome to share how you're feeling, however, we ask you to be mindful of the language you're using here.
Thank you
Jonatan,
Thanks for the reply.
Does it appear that the issue is not acoustics but rather, subjectivity? It all depends on the manager's discretion and "trained" ear. You stated that it "might" be some acoustics and If I work on my acoustic environment I will "definitely" avoid these rejections... That is quite an absolute word /result and I highly doubt it as long as there is a 3rd party involved (bunny manager) in the process. I will look at my room set up again... but getting room echo AND boxiness from the same space at the same time using the same equipment and recording techniques seems a bit unusual.
Please accept my apology for the language used in this forum but understand that I was being VERY polite considering the amount of frustration that was involved. I filtered it a considerable amount. :)
We understand how frustrating this situation can be for our Pros, however, we've seen how many of our Pros have done the suggested work on their recording environment and as a result, our team nor the clients, ask for revisions.
That's why we are confident in bringing this suggestion to you.
No need to apologize, Timothy, we just want you to know that we expect all of our members to be polite, respectful, and mindful of their language in our community.
Again... Thanks for the response Jonatan... but you still have serious issues with subjectivity in your managers. Since your latest response before this one, I had 5 more that were accepted without issue and the last one I submitted was rejected for being "undesirably over-processed"... when I have done NOTHING different. Please tell me I am wrong again... Here is the latest response:

Hi,
Thank you for your submission; we greatly appreciate your effort. Unfortunately, we won\'t be able to approve this recording due to the following issue(s):
- Your recording sounds undesirably over-processed, which is impacting the quality of the deliverable.
We trust our feedback will help you improve the quality of your work and achieve professional results.

Our Quality Control Team is ready to provide you with personalized feedback and actionable recommendations so you can improve the quality of your files.
As I have stated... all 6 of the recordings were done under the same conditions... actually, ALL of my recordings are done under the same conditions... so, why the differing feedbacks?? It is more of a frustration when you do not get consistent feedback. I am sure I speak for MANY pro's
Additionally... I was not given a chance to revise this submission but was merely tossed to the side with this lame excuse for a rejection.
Hi, Gents!
First of all, thank you both for the wealth of information in this conversation, it really helps us in the QC trenches when pros can share these situations with us!
Tim, would you mind doing me a big favor? Please upload the files that were rejected and those that were accepted in the usual (44.1K/16b) .wav format. A Google Drive folder or Dropbox or any other file sharing service will do. I'd love to analyze the files with care and come up with suggestions on how to solve any issues for good. Just label/name them accordingly and I'll be working along with you to find a definitive answer to any audio quandaries.
As a pro and QC Agent I understand both sides of this story and would love nothing more than to help you iron out any details that can make your Bunny Journey the most enjoyable one.
Also, if you could include a detailed account of your setup (pics help too!) it'de be awesome. Tell me about your mic, preamp/interface, recording space, DAW and processing choices.
Hope to read from you soon!
- Héctor Adolfo Ituarte (Bunny Studio QC Agent)
Hector,
Thank you for responding.
As you can tell from the thread my frustration level is at an all-time high. I know your managers are dealing with plenty of criticism from people in the industry with egos and I am no exception even though I usually try to keep mine in check after 30 years in the radio industry. My issues stem mainly from the subjectivity and inconsistent reasons for rejections that make it very difficult to dial anything in when you cannot pinpoint one issue from another. I TOTALLY understand and accept reasons concerning voice preference or performance issues. THAT is the nature of the beast. But the technical side is where I feel the unfairness and frustration. My background is extensive in this field and I am VERY confident in my abilities so these rejections sting a tad.
As far as my setup goes... I use a Focusrite scarlett interface and my microphone of choice currently is a Samson C01 condenser. I use Audacity as my DAW and record my levels at between -12 and -18. I will upgrade to Reaper as my DAW in the very near future once I get some more time in learning how it operates and can become efficient in its use.
I have included a google drive link below of some files and pictures for your review as well as screenshots of some of my DAW settings. I use very little noise reduction if any at all and only normalize to -3DB before sending to VB for review.

again.. thank you for your response and I look forward to your analysis.
Hi, Tim!
Thank you for the kindness and willingness in sharing those audios and pictures with me, that plus the details of your working setup are all very illuminating!
Let's start with another request from me. Please, upload a new sample with no processing at all, in 48K/24b quality if possible. It can be anything as long as you record it that way. With that being said, I have to agree with the rejection for processing in the 'Utah' file. Artifacting is present and I would've made the same call. These artifacts are not as audible but still present in other files, which might've warranted the 'pass' in other instances.
Still, I'd love to hear what that Samson is capturing as raw as possible. I'll work on your sample with Reaper and provide you with an FX Chain and instructions on how to use it because I'm afraid Audacity is not doing you justice. I've never been a fan of their NR/NS and other processesses of the kind. It's a fine DAW to get one out of a pinch, but their processing is just not as transparent as in other programs.
I'll be on the lookout for your uploads, looking forward to helping you tailor a sound that serves your voice and readings well. I know from my own 20+ years of radio and TV experience that this process can test a pro's patience, but believe me, Bunny has shaped me into a better VA, producer, and QC professional in less time than that, with my fare share of ego disposal in the process, hahaha. =)
Have a great weekend!
Hector,
Thank you for the feedback. As requested I have uploaded a file to the google drive link I provided earlier. It is labeled "48000 24b sample"
Again I thank you for your assistance and I look forward to your response.
BTW... I am LOVING Reaper and am spending as much time as I can learning the important aspects of it. I look forward to your chain recommendations.
That's awesome, Tim!
I'm very happy and pleased that you've found Reaper functional and fun! I gotta love it too. I'll work on your samples and will come back to you tomorrow with something for you to play with on Reaper.
Thanks a bunch for the effort put into this little exercise. =)
Keep on rocking!
Thank you Hector!
I submitted my 1st audition for a speedy utilizing reaper and it was accepted without issue so I must be doing something right... but it is only ONE so far. I look forward to your suggestions.
Hector,
Just checking in to see what you have come up with. 7 days ago you stated you would have something for me "tomorrow" to work with. I am just making sure you did not forget about me.
Hey, Tim!
First of all, super kudos on getting your first Speedy approved! It may not seem like much, but it's a big deal and I'm very glad that you're in the club now.
Now, I'm not gonna lie or BS you, you deserve better. Truth is, we've been super busy and I had to place this little thing in the back burner for some days. Please forgive me for not being more present, but here you go: a freshly tailored FX Chain for you to use in Reaper.
It will call for the use of a free plugin by Lewitt called Polarizer. Just download, install, and configure as you would any other plugin before using the chain ;)
Please let me know how it goes and keep us posted on the progress!
Enjoy!
Hector,
THANK YOU for all the help!
I have seen some improvement in my recordings and did land a speedy almost immediately after implementing. But I have not gotten another invite to ANYTHING in almost 2 weeks since that ONE so I am unable to determine if it has made that much of a difference without consistent chances to audition. I am unsure if the algorithm has changed with bunnystudio, but I was getting invites fairly regularly up to the time of your last message. Apparently, I have appeared to become invisible on this site since.
Hey, Tim!
You're very welcome, mate! I'm glad all of our hard work and patience paid off with your sound, kudos!
Let me look into that situation, it's not the first time I've heard about it. Thanks for the heads up! In the meantime, keep on rocking!
Just go ahead and post if there's anything scratching your mind =)
Hello Hector!
Here I am again. MUCH success with your help and settings and had my last 9 submissions of contests, speedys and BOOKINGS pass with flying colors... THEN... the rabbit hole of bunny rejection hit again... for Boxiness. I do NOT understand.... all settings the same.... room is the same... mic is the same... distance from the mic is the same your presets are the same. I actually think it was some of the best work I have done yet. How is this possible?? below is the job AND the rejection. I really would like this to NOT reflect on my stats as I feel it was a subjective rejection. If you could provide insight I would appreciate it. Hiroshi is the "Pro" that rejected the submission.
Uh-oh! I'm sorry, but the work you submitted for was rejected by a Bunny Manager due to the following reason(s):
Hi,
Thank you for resubmitting; we greatly appreciate your effort. Unfortunately, we won't be able to approve this recording due to the following issue(s):
1.) Boxiness- There is 'boxiness' impacting your recording which makes it sound as if it was recorded in a very small space. Please ensure you record in an acoustically treated environment. If you already have acoustic treatment, it may not be adequate.
You'll find tips on acoustic treatment on our community page
Hi, Tim!
Thank you very much for reaching out once again! I'm really glad to read that the platform has been kind to you with all those successful projects, congrats my man!
On the other hand, I've listened to the project and it sounds a bit hollow/boxy (especially when compared to the other submissions). I'll bring the subject up in a future meeting with the team for I know that standards will continue to be adjusted in the forthcoming months.
In the meantime, would you like to work some more on your sound? I think we can find ways to improve it further and prevent any more rejections from happening. What do you say, mate?
Hope to hear from you soon!
I dunno... after my last episode... I may be done. NOTHING your pros do make any sense to me.
I appreciate all your help.
