Help me find the settings to do what QC wants now?
QC (notably only the QC that happens overnight Pacific time) keeps rejecting my files and requesting I do new settings. I don't know how to do these things and I can't find any tutorials for my DAW that aren't CC specific.
I am using Adobe Audition CS6 (I cannot afford Cloud so please do not ask me to upgrade) and I need to know how to do these things if someone can please help:
a) Discard any noise reduction/suppression and/or de-essing currently applied in your FX Chain. (This is the setting that was given to me by previous QC agent in forum that I'm now being asked to remove)
b) Treat your waveform with noise gate at a threshold of 38 dB to eliminate all hiss and low-amplitude noises. (Can't find anything called Noise Gate in CS6)
c) If needed, apply discrete de-essing (no more than a 2.3 dB reduction) in a broad frequency range, such as 4 to 8 kHz. (How?)
d) Normalize your waveform to -3 dBFS Peak Level as per Bunny Guidelines. (When I normalize to -3 using the "Normalize to -3dB" setting in CS6, this just brings the peaks to CS6 - is this what you really want?)

Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out. We think a great way to help you with that could be through some articles that have helped other Pros like you.
Let us share these with you:
How to use a noise gate in adobe audition
How to remove sibilance in audition
How to normalize en audition
Let us know if these help you :D
How about you try what they say and come back with new audio for evaluation?
We'll be waiting for you
Starting with the top down - The noise gate article isn't helpful. I don't know how to do what QC is asking. Can you let me know what to move where? I clicked the -20db setting per the article and the audio sounds awful. All of the words become choppy. That can't possibly be what you want.
This is a sample before the "noise gate" dynamic processor filter.

This is the same sample with the "noise gate" applied per the instructions in the article. I don't hear any noise in the sample to begin with so I don't know what I'm supposed to be cutting out here. QC asked for a setting of 38 dB. How do I change it to that setting?

What do I click/drag where here to get to the setting QC wants?
Next for Sibilance - Watched the video but I don't know how to set this graph to the exact numbers that QC wanted. So how do I set this (see image) to "no more than a 2.3 dB reduction in a broad frequency range, such as 4 to 8 kHz"?
Lastly for the Normalize to -3dB using the Favorite as per the video and what I referenced in the first message - this is what I do for each delivery but QC doesn't like it so if I don't do it that way, what way am I supposed to do it?
Hello Erin!
How are you??
Hope you are doing great! I know it could be frustrating to try to get things right and somehow something is not working. However, we really appreciate your commitment and I'm going to do my best to help you solve this issue.
As a matter of fact, this audio you submitted (https://clyp.it/fkm1gokc?token=79e03b8b89e2aec91ce9cff9441d7d71) doesn't sound that bad at all to me. It do has a slight noise but it isn't distracting at all and it could easily be edited.
Could you please send me the link of this project where this audio got rejected please?
Also, if you don't mind, in order to tune things a little bit, could you please send me a couple of new audios using the same settings of the audio I mentioned above to see what it is possible to improve? Honestly I think the audio sounds fair enough but I want to make sure there aren't any other issues I'm not aware of.
Hope you had an amazing week so far.
Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Gabriel
