Application rejection
Hello, I am curious as to why my application was rejected. The email stated this: It sounds as if the audio was not recorded with professional equipment. Please ensure you are using a professional microphone and equipment to record properly.
I am recording with a Blue Yeti and am recording in a noise treated room. It's not entirely sound proof, but the noise level was below -60 as required before using any noise removal. Usually I would edit audio, but since the application asked us not to perform any editing, I did not. I am recording in Audacity, but could switch over to Adobe Audition if necessary, however I have successfully completed VO jobs just using Audacity and RX 8 Audio Editor in the past, so I did not think it would be necessary to make the jump to Adobe Audition just yet.
I have recently upgraded some things in my home studio since the first recording and would like to give it another go, but was curious if I could get some direct feedback that might explain what I need to upgrade.
Here is a link to the initial application recording: https://app.box.com/s/kisxah2oa3422zefbrnt7s02tcr5hmvl Listening to it again, I know I can record better than this, but would appreciate an outsiders perspective other than my own ear.

Hi I have the same issue of rejection. I am already using professional microphone but still getting the same comments on rejection. :(
Hi Hiroshi,
Good day!
Thank you for your response.
I'm receiving the same comments, "-It sounds as if the audio was not recorded with professional equipment. Please ensure you are using a professional microphone and equipment to record properly"
I am using the Innoo Tech Professional Microphone.
Hi Hiroshi,
Thank you for that. :)
Hi Hiroshi,
Thank you for the help. Sorry for the delayed response, I have been making some adjustments to my studio and also upgraded to a Rode NT1. I have done this recording in Reaper, but I have not used any sound reduction or normalization like I would typically do before submitting a project. I do not see any specific bands of noise in this recording when I look at the spectral frequencies, so hopefully that problem is solved. Please let me know how it sounds, I appreciate the feedback. :)

Hi Hiroshi,
Absolutely! Here is a link to the edited file:

I did a bit of tweaking between some lines, so it may not match exactly to the first.
Hi Hiroshi,
Yes, the dreaded mouth noise! I have been working on some different tips to reduce that and trying to find what works best for me so that I don't produce as much. RX 8 works to a degree after the fact, but I haven't quite found the perfect setting for removing mouth noise and not removing too much from the voice delivery. It's a work in process. I'm definitely looking forward to having another go at the application, I asked to have another chance, so we'll see how it goes. To be clear, I should still turn in the un-edited version for the application, correct?
Thanks for your help with this,
Mel
