    Hi Bill,

Thanks for posting in our Community!

We’ll be assigning this post to a member of our QC team so they can take a closer look into your concerns.

To help with this process, could you please share a few fresh samples of your current work? You can upload them to a file-sharing platform like Google Drive, Soundcloud, or similar, and share the links with us here. This will allow our team to better assess your current quality, tone, and delivery.

It’s also worth noting that not all Pro deliverables are manually reviewed by our QC team. This depends on several factors, including a Pro's credibility and the specific needs of each project. Because of this, some quality aspects may not be flagged right away.

However, whenever a project is canceled, our QC agents do review it thoroughly to identify areas for improvement—whether on our side, the client’s, or the talent’s. That’s why feedback can sometimes feel delayed, even though it’s part of a consistent review effort across the board.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Best,
    Gabriela Schneider

    Hi Bill,

After carefully reviewing your audio, I identified the two issues that the rest of the QC team flagged.
The boxiness issue is quite noticeable and would typically be flagged in the English - England, Young Adult category. The reason behind this is that the general audio quality we receive from talents/pros in the English-England YA is higher compared to other skill categories and usually does not exhibit or have minimal boxiness.

In regards to your Young Adult skill being removed, as Gabriela mentioned, the QC team periodically reviews and sometimes debates over tonal characteristics of pros to provide an accurate selection for clients. In your case, the whole QC team has agreed that your skills fit a lot better in the Middle Aged category.

I believe your tone/delivery style can also benefit from the male-senior category so you may try applying to that category.

    Hiroshi,
you will notice that most of my recent Young Adult reads have been accepted by clients, so it would seem that they are quite happy with my reads in that category.

Can you please define “boxiness” as I am recording in a treated booth and would like to address any issues which you are hearing.

    Hello Bill,

I had the rest of the QC team review the samples you sent and everyone has agreed that your tone/style is better suited for the Middle Age category. Please know that we are doing this in order to provide a more accurate selection for clients and to give chances to other pros better suited for the young adult category.

Regarding the boxiness in your audio, there is still noticeable boxiness in the new samples you sent. Additionally, I also found an editing issue in YA - Mash Up at 0:05.

I checked your profile samples and I noticed some samples didn't have the boxiness issue. I would suggest reverting your setup back to when these samples were recorded if possible.

If you're having trouble hearing the quality differences, I would suggest always using professional headphone monitors when monitoring your recordings.

    Best,
    Hiroshi
