To complete the assignment I used the following gear:
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
Audio Technica AT-2020 Condenser Mic
Kaotica Eyeball
Adobe Audition as my D.A.W.
Booth: My closet full of clothes
I recently submitted my pre-hire assignment for Sound Bunny and was rejected with this reply: “Your recording sounds undesirably over-processed, which is impacting the quality of the deliverable. It may be due to a noise reduction plugin, and EQ, or a noise gate, for example.” I had my husband assist me with this audition, as he is a music producer and mix/recording engineer, so I would not make any mistakes. He assures me that he did not use any plug-ins at all, nor did he use any hardware gear such as compressors, EQ’s, etc. to record me. That being said, why do you think I’m being told my audio sounds processed? My husband said that the only thing he did do besides record me was to normalize the wave form so it would peak at -3db. He essential turned up the recording. Could that be what they are referring to? Also, to add, he said that he “did not” use the air feature on the Scarlett 2i2. Any assistance regarding this would be extremely helpful, and much appreciated.
Thanks.
