    Hello, Evelyn!
My name is Aaron, I am a fellow voice actor and technical voice coach.
I would be happy to give you my feedback today about your sample!

I just sent you a request through Google Drive to allow me access to hear the file- you should see that shortly!

    And also- Congratulations!
The first step in growing past any shortcoming your studio may have is to ask for help!
    🙌
Looking forward to assisting you to get your space perfectly dialed in so you can start completing projects with ease!

    Until then, take care.

Alright, thanks for sharing your work, Evelyn!

First off, I must say that you have a wonderful voice for VO, and I think with a few tweaks, you will be well on your way to making lots of great projects with Bunny Studio!

You obviously know exactly what you are doing when it comes to performing your art, and the audio really is not far off from the quality of work that I see get approved every day.

That said, here is what I think you could try:

    • There does seem to be an audible hiss or white noise. My recommendation to be able to hear it is to use simple, in-ear earbuds at 100% volume, and you should be able to make it out. The tell-tale sign of this is that the audio editing is very noticeable, and I can hear when you are cutting in new audio sections, or when your noise gate is activated. For example, the 1-2 second mark, in between the words "Hello" and "Thank you" I can hear the hiss cut off, and then cut back in. This is also heard throughout the rest of the sample, in-between many words and phrases.
    • The nature of the cut-off in the hiss/ white noise makes me wonder if you are trying to use some sort of noise gating plugin? While I personally also use a noise gate, it should be set at a threshold that is far below any level that would interfere with any speech. It also does not help in this case, because it just makes the hiss stand out even more, in my opinion.
    • In regards to the room echo - yes I can also hear a touch of echo, and it is just outside of the realm of "acceptable" for Bunny Studio standards, however, I can also tell that you are VERY close to having that figured out as well. The way I would handle this is to use surgically placed splits and fades to actually fade away the echoes in post-production! A few spots to try this would be in-between "Thank" and "you" or also in-between "the" and "best" or also in-between "your" and "project". I am not sure how Audacity works exactly, but in Reaper I would simply add a split, and then drastically fade each side of the split until the echo disappears.

    Some things to try:

    • Try tilting your mic at different angles, and see if you can find a "sweet spot" where there is less echo!
    • Try boosting/ reducing your input volume just a tad to eliminate hiss and white noise!

These are just my initial reactions to this! I would be happy to analyze another sample if you are able to revise this and share it here!
    You got this!  🙌

P.S. In the meantime, here is a random project I recently made with Bunny Studio. Enjoy! ✌️
