Rejected for Boominess, my Natural Voice

I took a listen and I can hear the 'boomy' resonance to which they're referring. At a guess, almost sounds as if there is a piece of wood (maybe drywall, or a desk) that is resonating with your voice in the lower ranges. If that's the case, it's a pretty easy solve - you've got a good voice and I'm confident that you can fairly painlessly get past this. If your microphone is on a desk, you might try getting a strong boom arm to which you can attach it, raising it away from that surface. Also put some soft mass between you and the walls. This can be acoustic foam/bass traps/heck - even clothes. If you search the site, they've got some solid advice on how to accomplish this.

Just want to add that they may ding you for a harsh-ish sibilance that I'm hearing as well. You may want to look up de-essing and apply some very lightly.

    Hello Nicholas! How are you??

Thanks a lot for reaching out :).

I was listening to your sample and there is indeed a boomy resonance that should be taken care of. Would you mind sending us some pictures of your setup in order to give you some specific advice in order to tackle this situation accordingly? I also agree with Jackson there are some harsh sibilances that maybe with a little tiny bit of de-essing can improve.

I want to thank Jackson for jumping into the conversation and giving his input. Really really appreciate it :)

Let me know your thoughts about it,

Hope you have an amazing day!

    Gabriel
