Hi Sara, I check in once in a while to see what issues others might be having and I see this was asked some time ago. Hopefully you got assistance elsewhere but just in case, I can hear some odd noises after the 'Pssst!' Almost like a crackle of some sort.

It's only slightly boxy though so  as yo say, it might just be the small space you're recording in. Has it gone through any processing?

Thank you! I haven't done anything else with the recording since then. I can probably edit out the crackling sound but I'm not sure what else I can do about the boxiness. I appreciate you listening and giving some feedback.

    Hi Sara,

Thank you for reaching out. And thank you Dave for lending your kind ears also!

Apologise for such a late response, we have been a little inundated here.

Nevertheless, I had a listen to your recording there is some slight boxiness - this normally is due to any hard surfaces close by.
Do you have your laptop/computer screen close to your mic? Script stand?
It's not massively distracting if I'm being honest, but some slight tweaks to your recording space should help. Usually, this involves adding further acoustic treatment to your space and covering all hard surfaces with soft materials (I.e blankets, pillows, towels, etc).
Feel free to send pictures on here of your recording space if you wish, and I can offer some ways which may help.

There is also some electrical background noise I'm detecting, again this could be due to a laptop fan or computer fan which may be located in your recording space?

Referencing the peculiar crackling noise, I wonder what processing chain are you using?

All in all, you really did a lovely job of reading the script and you have a great voice! :)

Hope you both have a great weekend!

    Kind regards,

    Samantha

P.s - Dave, it's always lovely to see you around in the community! Thank you so much for your feedback :D
