Boxiness

    Hi there Dr-Moath Etiwi.

The boxiness side effect in audio, occurs when you capture your voice in a very small "box" kind of Space. Thus cause a coloration (boost) in certain frequencies that make the voice sounds a bit "muddy".

This an image that shows the side effects frequency content of a vocal recording. "Boominess" and "boxiness", that usually occurs between 100Hz and 500Hz, so we recommend to sweep with an equalizer in this frequency range, in order to find the problematic frequencies that are causing the issue.

When you find that specific frequency you should bring down the gain, proceed with caution, do not turn down the gain knob too much, or you will over processed your signal and will result in a unnatural timbre of voice.

Last but not least, we recommend also to record in an acoustically treated space. If you already have acoustic treatment, perhaps is not adequate enough. So, we recommend you to visit this link of our community to find more acoustic treatment tips. https://bit.ly/2MrNsSV
