My work has been consistently rejected lately even though I did not change the settings of my studio
Hi Bunny Studio
I wanted to have a clearer feedback since my work has been consistently rejected lately. I usually received the same feedback :
- The volume of your audio is undesirably low : I don't understand because Bunny want normalised recordings at -3dBFS. Yet I submitted works recorded well over -3dBFS and still was rejected because the volume was undesirably low. The last work that was accepted by Bunny Studio was recorded at +6dBFS ...
- There is 'boxiness' impacting your recording which makes it sound as if it was recorded in a very small space : I did not change my set up since September and every recording I submitted was accepted until November when it suddenly changed.
Here are some samples of the work that has been rejected. I hope that you will give me some useful feedback since I do not want those rejections to impact my stats badly ...

Hi Valentin, thanks for reaching out!

1) We refer to normalization as the process to bring up the volume of an audio file to the desired level (in this case -3dBFS). This means that the maximum peak of the signal should be raised up to -3dBFS. I analyzed the samples you sent in Ozone RX and as you can see, the maximum peak (true peak level) of "Fastenal" is -17,63dBFS; while the maximum peak of "Cana" is -14.60dBFS. Taking that into account, we can say that for "Fastenal" you can raise the level by 14.63dBFS to set the maximum peak at -3dBFS.
It will be nice to know what audio editor you are using. In my case, I have Pro Tools and I have this plugin to normalize to the desired level (please notice that the normalization is set to peak level)
In the following wetransfer link, you can listen to the normalized version of "Cana" https://we.tl/t-eKtwir1dBt.
2) Listening to your audio, I could say that the problem is more a room echo than boxiness. In this case, it will be nice to see some photos of your recording space. This issue can be solved by adding a little more acoustic treatment or using the treatment you have in a more efficient way.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Steven.
