There is audible room echo (reverberation) impacting your recording.
Hello
I’ve submitted my test project recording but unfortunately it was rejected again. After doing a bit of research it seems that many Bunny Pros who are recording in professional studios have the impression your standards are a bit too strict: https://help.bunnystudio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360004188019-Quality-Control-Nonsense
However, I’d like a detailed feedback on how I can improve my sound quality to meet your standards. I’m determined to be accepted as voice talent. The feedback I received, even after revision, was:
There is audible room echo (reverberation) impacting your recording. Please ensure you record in an acoustically treated space. If you already have acoustic treatment, it may not be adequate.
Here’s a picture of the setup. I’ve got a box coated with sound absorbing foam and the mic placed within. I’m not talking directly into the mic but somewhat off axis:
In the first recording I’ve made, I’ve had my gain rather high and me talking from outside, maybe 20-30 cm from the mic. In hindsight, yes that did include a tiny bit of echo it seems. On the second recording. I’ve had my head halfway in the box and the gain turned down. I felt it had much less echo and sounded better. The equipment I’m using is a Rode NT1-A with a pop-filter, a shock mount and a Scarlett 2i2. The recordings made with Audacity software.
Can you please listen to the audio again, consider my setup and give me tips on what changes I need to make to my setup so the recording will be accepted?
Thank you again for your efforts and your assistance. I greatly appreciate it.
Kind regards
Philipp

I'd love to hear a feedback from QC to improve my setup.
Hello Philipp!
Thanks a lot for reaching out!
I was listening to your sample and there is in fact some room echo issues on your recording. Looking at your setup, I might guess the reflections are coming from your environment, as the booth you are using is covering only one side of the mic but there are still some room reverb that is coming through the mic.
For this we can try two things:
You could try recording at a closed space, such a closet or small room, and try covering the walls with acoustic panels in order to prevent any room reflections, or you can also try locating yourself in between the clothes. Another option would be recording on the same space where you are working at the moment, but you could try locating some clothes and blankets around you when recording to remove a lot of the reflections from your space. Locating a carpet or blanket beneath you should also help.
Please let me know your thoughts about it! Hope this helps :)
Have an amazing week.
Gabriel
Dear Gabriel
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback. I've made a completely new recording environment based on your feedback. Here's three recordings I've made in the new environment:

Could you please tune in once again and let me know, if this would be sufficient for Bunny Studios quality requirements? For reference, please have a look at my new recording setup, too:
I can't wait to hear your feedback. Thanks!
Kind regards

Hey Philipp!
Thanks a lot for coming back :). Its amazing that you took the time to build your booth.
Those samples are sounding pretty neat. Although they sound pretty similar, I find to prefer Soundbox Test 1. Please make sure that all your recordings have this same quality. There shouldn't be any further issues in regards your quality if all your audios sound like this :).
Please let me know if you have any more questions!
Kind regards,
Gabriel
