Hello all - looking for feedback to improve our rejected application
Hi everyone,
My wife applied to VoiceBunny Pro earlier today, and our submission was rejected. As I did the recording for her, I'd love to learn more about how we can improve our work in order to 'pass muster'.
I tried to not process the recorded audio too much - I just used a little compression on the final recording, plus ran a mild de-esser plugin to try and remove any sibilants. Is this considered a no-no?

Thanks in advance for any feedback you can give.
Regards,
Devan

Hi Devan
Thank you for sharing the recording. The file, unfortunately, has several critical issues that must be addressed.
1. The recording has a critical amount of background noises. I can pick up cars, street noises and a fan. This is not ideal and showcases that you're recording in a space that is not acoustically treated. This is also noticeable because the recording has a high level of room echo.
Please keep in mind that you need to record in an acoustically treated space at all times. You can find more information on acoustic treatment by checking our webinar on the topic or our tips post where we talk about easy acoustic treatment solutions you can try.
2. The recording has a lot of mouth noises. This is not ideal as it affects the cleanliness of the recording and overall voice. We suggest you review the technique you're using to record and ensure your wife is hydrated before recording.
These are the major issues I found. Please take care of the acoustic treatment first as it's the most critical error found.
