Hi,
The sample sounds ok to me, there is a slight noise at the very beginning of the recording. In terms of volume it's a bit soft, we recommend normalizing to -3dB.
Hi Nathaniel
The recording sounds quite processed to me and a bit boxy. The breaths sound quite processed in some areas and the noise to my ears is very present. How are you recording? Can you let us know your equipment?
Well Angela I'm using Focusrite scarlet 2i2 With a very high quality XLR Phantom powered compressor microphone. This is the same equipment I have been using Which you approved me with to reopen my account. So I really can't see how my equipment could be a problem. My recording space is a small padded room. It has entirely to do with how I'm using it. As you know I'm looking to reset my account so as to get a fresh start. Wile I'm waiting for my last payment to come in so that we can do that I've decided to start Recording some voice Samples so that I am 100% sure that I know what I'm doing, and so that I will have a decent log of Samples to upload when the time comes. I don't want to have gotten things correct by accident. I want to be sure that I can be consistent.
I thank you both for your commitments and willingness to help. I am confident that I can do Good quality recordings Consistently, I just figure some practiss will do me a lot of good. Do you have any advice or tips on what my setting or microphone distance? I would love to have greater understanding as to how to get the most out of my equipment.
I hope this is not too bold to say, but I am slightly concerned that I have had 2 different members of the quality control team Comment on this recording with such drastically different views. At least that's the how it appears from my side. I dont mean to cause problems, I just want to be sure that once I get comfortable And consistent how things work, That I won't get turn down randomly by somebody What the different viewpoint then those who already approved me. Perhaps I misunderstanding what I'm seeing though. Again I hope I haven't offended either one of you.
I'm gonna keep posting audio samples. I'll post another one tomorrow, if you guys can keep with me and let me know what you think, that would be very helpful and appreciated. I'll give this 1A listen to see if I can hear the sound you both are referring to. I'll alos will work on making it less processed. I should have a new voice Uploaded by tomorrow evening, Yes not sooner. Thanks so much again.
Hi guys (Sebastian Torres & Angela Serrano)
perhaps I need to refine my question. here are 3 different edits of the same recording. would all or and of them get flagged by the "system"? I look foreword to hearing from you both. :D
P.S.-if it doesn't already exist, it might be a good idea if we had a place we could upload samples to be tested by a duplicate Quality control system. that way we could know for sure beforehand with out running the risk of hurting our stats. :)

Hi Nathaniel,
In the first sample you shared I did say it was ok, it might get through QC but there's always room for improvement. Angela's comments are far more detailed and accurate than mine (my bad!).
For consistency, distance and angle regarding the mic capsule are crucial. Some people use a pencil, that way the distance to the capsule is always the same.
These latest batch of edits have different issues. The first one has quite a bit of hiss (would probably get flagged for that), the second one has less, but it's still noticeable and the third one has no hiss in between words but does sound a bit processed. That's were you'll get into trouble as noise reduction software sounds different in every recording. For me, it smears high frequencies and sometimes makes clicks/mouth noises more noticeable.
I'd suggest checking where that hiss is coming from. The Scarlett shouldn't be producing that much hiss, so can we ask what mic are you using? You shouldn't need to go past halfway on the mic gain pot if it's a condenser mic.
And one last recommendation, make sure to normalize files to -3dB (raising the volume so the loudest peak hits -3db).
Hope that helps!
-Seb
Thanks so much, so sorry about the confusion I really didn't mean to make any thing by it. I really hope it didn't upset either of you. I was just really confused. Thank you so much for the clarification. I'll take what you said into consideration. My gain might have a lot to do with it.
I'm not sure what the hiss is....which is frustrating, could it be anything to do with ambient nose of some kind of is it safe to say that its definitely a mechanical problem in my system/gear?
Hi Nathaniel!
I understand your frustration. Hiss is one of those problems that can be quite hard to pinpoint. We hosted a webinar on hiss noise so you may want to check it out to understand better how it works and the different sources it may come from. You can read it here: https://help.bunnyinc.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/203418064-Recording-Problems-Hiss-Noise
In your case. I believe the noise is coming from your recording gear as it's really consistent. It could be coming from either the microphone or the interface in this case. I believe the issue is a combination of the preamp's gain and your microphone. I guess the mic's part of the culprit because the unprocessed file sounds very muddy, nasal and a bit low-quality as if you were recording with a very cheap mic. Which microphone are you using to record? Do you, by any chance have another one you can try?
thank you guys so much for your input, advice, and resources! here is an other recording where I test a few changes and settings. I think I may have figured this out, or at least I hope I have. if not I'm at least much much closer. the hole thing has been normalised to -3db. the mic that I'm using is an "Audio-Techica At4047/sv Capacitor studio microphone." it does have 2 switches that is refer to in this test recording. the one on the left says "low cut", wile the one on the right says "PAD". not entirely 100% sure what there function is but the do make a difference in the level of hiss. there are many different test in the recording all of witch i have made notes on. if you could please let me know if with in any of them I have achieved the desired hiss reduction. the only other mic I have is a "Heil PR-40" mic.

Hi Nathaniel!
What an awesome exercise you did there! With the gain at the dead center (0:44) is the best sounding to me. I believe you replicated that at the end around 2:09 with the gain turned down (not really sure what you were manging there). There's barely any noise and your voice sounds crisp and clean. With the correct editing, I'm sure that's the charm!
Can you share a real voice over, whatever script is OK, and edit it as a final file to be delivered? I'm sure we got it!
here you go!

Thanks Nathaniel
It sounds good! Sometimes there are some hints as if it was filtered, but I believe this could be the mic's sound. It's not too harsh, so I think it's OK!
Also, your performance is a bit stiff at the beginning. Remember to be as natural and conversational as possible. Reading the texts more than once will definitely help you grasp the natural and grammatical pauses as well as the inflections and the overall tone of the voice-over. I usually record my voice overs twice or thrice everytime just to ensure I get the best performance!
Your profile has been reactivated so you will be indexed in Search and taken into consideration for project invitations again. Keep this comments in mind and I'm sure things will go great!
Thank you so much for all the help. My account was actually rectivated a few months ago. If you remember I was actually looking to have it reset as if I was new again. https://help.bunnyinc.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360000808600-Can-I-be-new-again-Restart-please- I was just waiting for my last payments to come in so I could drain my account of funds. I did that yesterday. So assuming that is still possible, how do I go about restarting my account? Do I have to re audition again? Or can this count as my addition please? Thank you so much for all the help again I really now understand what I'm doing.
Thanks for reminding me, Nathaniel! My apologies for the confusion.
What we can do is close this account you have so you can start a new one with the same email address. You would have to complete the application process again to make it official! Would that work? Let me know!
I am ready to make my new account. I believe that doing so will bring me more success in this work. I do have one concern. I've worked very hard over the past year to improve and to learn. I've found that in my professional life, my reputation has been my most valuable asset. This is why I have put in so much work and effort in to this with you. I've done by best be responsibIe, and accountable. My goal and hope was that if I could listen learn and improve, I could gain the confidence of you and those in your position. To have the confidence of my superior has always been of incomparable worth. I worry that, if I close my account, and make a new one, that all of that effort will be forgotten, that I will appear to be just another newbie. I worry that my hard work and effort will be forgotten....
I totally understand, Nathaniel. However, as your profile stands now, it may be quite difficult for you to receive further invitations. As your history with this account is not really that favorable, I'd recommend closing it and starting over. We also know you and will definitely keep you in mind even if the account is new.
Let me know if I can proceed!
Thank for your candor and the reassurance that you won't forget who I am, or the work I've done. As you believe that I shouldn't have a problem with the quality aspect of the Audition process. Then please do go right a head with the closing down of my current account! I'm also curious about one other thing. I'm able to perform iconic characters such as Mickey Mouse shrek yoda Grover and the gingerbread man, What uploading performances of them as Voice apples be allowed, or is there a policy against it/is it legally reprehensible?
Hi Nathaniel
Once you're accepted again by the team, you can upload these samples to the system for sure. We don't have any restriction in regards to impersonations as long as they're not used for illegal purposes. Just make sure they comply with our samples guidelines, you should be good to go!
I have closed the account now. You can reapply within the next 24 hours when all the changes have been loaded.
Thanks very much! Sorry for my lack of understanding but are you saying that I'll be eligible to reapply within the next 24 hours or that I have only 24 hours from now to reapply? The reason I ask is because today is Halloween and I won't have the quiet in my house that I normally do until Tomorrow which would Make it difficult to accomplish in such a short amount of time Make it difficult to accomplish in such a short amount of time .
Sorry for the confusion, Nathaniel!
You will be eligible to reapply in 24 hours when all the changes are loaded in the system. You can apply anytime starting tomorrow.
So I submitted my audition at 8:00 a.m. this morning and has still heard nothing back… it didn't take this long last time
Should I be concerned?
ok so I thought I knew what I was doing but I got rejected in the audition I notice that my gain was turned down a little but and the studio door was open a bit but that wasnt a problem before. can you take a listen to this, let me know what you think and reset my account one more time? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Sgga8ChkuajFLlle73X3UrEXWtzZHU0P
Hi,
I've listened to your audition but unfortunately, there is an electrical noise throughout. Sounds like a bad cable or connection. This noise is definitely not present in the previous samples you shared with us (for example the one on the 22nd of October).
In terms of performance, there are some big volume jumps, at the start it's way louder than at the end. Make sure you record at the same distance from the mic throughout.
I was just about to message you, I found the problem! And now I feel so stupid. I was having problems earlier with background noise and what not so I crapped the project and started again. But I ended up uploading the bad file by mostake, and deleting the good one.
It was a stupid oversight on my part
Do you need me to send you another good recording to be able to reset my account again?
Hi Nathaniel
You can request another application project directly on the platform. You can request another chance by logging into your account and clicking on "You started an application. Click here to continue." Due to the amount of applications and reconsiderations we receive, this process could take up to 30 days.
Also, if you want, you can share the good file with us here. We can listen to it and let you know if it would pass or if there's something else you have to keep an eye on when you receive your new app.
is there any way we could do it like we just did? I know it was a gross over site on my part but it would really hinder me to have to wait so long again. so is possible to have you reset it for me directly again?
I mean I that possible? and if it is can you be so merciful as to do so for me?! just one more time?! please please please please!!!. Help Angela Serrano, you're my only hope!
